“This is one of the fakest photos I’ve ever taken.
This weekend was not our weekend.
For some reason, my partner and I just weren’t having a very good weekend together.
We butted heads a lot.
We were a little mean to each other.
We kept our distance.
We weren’t mad at each other, but we definitely weren’t the most ‘in love’ either.
I was short and irritable, and Caleb was just Caleb.
I’m sharing this because more often than not, this is real life.
How many Instagram posts scream a perfect life when on the inside it’s wrecked by bad days, bad moods, unpleasant circumstances, and just life?
Life isn’t perfect and I think it’s wrong for us to pretend it is.
It’s okay to have a bad day.
It’s okay to not have a perfect relationship.
It’s okay not to have perfect clothes, hair, teeth, and live a lavish lifestyle.
And we need to remember that these squares don’t represent the reality of life, they represent the face people want you to see.”
