“I’m in the season of ‘No’ on the RSVPs or the ‘Can I let you know the night before?’
I’m in the season of thinking I responded to a text, but I never actually pressed ‘send.’
I’m in the season of wanting to make a bunch of plans, but also hoping they fall through so I can stay in my PJs and not have to drive anywhere.
I’m in the season of wanting to have a clean home while simultaneously wanting to spend quality time with my family and relax on the couch watching movies.
I’m in the season of putting whipped cream in the pantry instead of the fridge.
I’m in the season of wanting to spend time with my parents rather than go to a birthday party, wedding, or special occasion.
I’m in the season of wanting my kids to bathe in their innocence before I blink and they no longer believe in magic.
I’m in this season BECAUSE I have young children who get sick randomly, and plans need to be canceled.
I’m in this season BECAUSE my family comes first, and I am often balancing multiple tasks at once.
I’m in this season BECAUSE as much as I want to be with friends, it’s easier to just be home with my husband and kids.
I’m in this season BECAUSE I want to soak in their littleness as much as I can.
I’m in this season BECAUSE my brain is filled with so many constantly flowing thoughts and things to do, that I overlook something as simple as a can of whipped cream.
I’m in this season BECAUSE I remembered what and who means the most to me. Family is everything to me. I plan on enjoying it as long as God allows.
I’m in this season BECAUSE my children are growing at the speed of light, and their time to believe in everything magical is fleeting.
Someday soon, I’ll be in a completely different season of life. Until that happens, I will embrace this season for all of its beauty and its faults.
Because, right now, there’s nowhere else I’d rather be.”
