“It’s the most wonderful time of the year…
For some, yes.
For others, no.
For some, the family gathering around is a blessing cherished for years to come, and for others gathering around causes enough anxiety to spark a flame.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…
For some the mistletoe hung means more kisses and romance sprinkled throughout the season and for others, it means forced kisses greeting the lips of their opponent.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…
For some it’s days filled with shopping, granting wishes for their children, and others can barely think about a gift when basic bills need to be paid.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…
For some, it’s holiday cheer, sparkling tinsel, and gleeful celebration and for others, it’s dread as they enter another store blasting Christmas music.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…
For some, it’s childhood memories flooding back filling them up with joy and magic and for others, its memories suppressed drudged up by passing Santa on the street ringing his bell and calling out, ‘Ho, ho, ho.’
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…
For some, it’s sugarplums and nutcrackers donning the house and for others, the idea of purchasing a tree, let alone glittering lights, is just too much.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…
For some, it’s gathering with those we love and for others, there is a missing seat at the table.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…
So friends, whether this time of year is magical or heartbreaking, let’s lean in and offer grace to those around us.
We are all struggling at times during this season and now is the time to be mindful of how a helping hand or an abundance of love can make all the difference.
So let’s be patient,
let’s be kind,
let’s fill one another up with gifts of understanding,
because for some,
this magical time is just a dim flicker.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…
