‘I thought I was going to be alone forever.’: Man makes magical DIY Harry Potter gift for ‘perfect’ girlfriend

“I thought I was going to be alone forever. I had sunk into a deep depression I never thought I’d get out of until a friend told me about this dating site. I knew about it, but I never thought I’d find anybody on it. So, I put myself out there and I had a couple of dates that really weren’t successful. I was just about to delete my account until Savana messaged me. In the first couple conversations I already liked her. She was open and transparent. I didn’t think it was going to go anywhere honestly but a month goes by and we had our first date. I had no idea what I was doing, who I was really looking for or what to expect because everything had gone so wrong in the past. We chose Mexican to eat and as I was waiting I saw this beautiful girl; prettier than anything I’ve ever seen, and I knew right then I liked her.

Savana and I had a connection immediately, but on our second date was the moment I knew we loved each other. All night, we put everything on the table and talked about what we wanted out of life and what we’re looking for.

Fast forward 6 months and we fall in love every day. We’re talking marriage and working hard financially to finally be able to get engaged.

My girlfriend loves Harry potter and I wanted to make her something. so I found this box lying around and that’s when the wheels started to turn…so I sanded the crap outta it.

Oh and I bought her four Illustrated versions of the books! I love her and she deserves to be spoiled haha.

And what would it be without a letter of recommendation from Hogwarts? Lol!

Her reaction to the gift was priceless as well! Upon opening the acceptance letter she smiled really big and started crying and said it was the most beautiful thing anyone has ever given her. I wiped the tears from her eyes and told her my love looks a lot like this chest and I will love her until the day I die.

Yesterday we spent the whole day with her parents and I was alone with her dad and asked for her hand in marriage. He told me, ‘yes, with pleasure.’ He thinks I’m a good guy and he loves me and how I make his daughter happy. Today I’m looking at rings.

You see, through my whole life I never fit in but when I was blessed with the love of this angel named Savana it was like the last puzzle piece to a crazy ugly puzzle. I fit perfectly and now I can look at myself and my life and I like looking at the whole picture in the puzzle; it looks beautiful.”
