“I’ve been a birth photographer for 20 years. Marit and Ander Pettersen are a very special couple for me.
I followed this couple on their first birth 4 years ago. They tried for a long time to get pregnant, so it was a truly desired baby.
For their first birth, I had no idea that Anders, the dad, was going to cry like this. The tears came as soon as he held this son for the first time.
Everyone at the birth cried with him. The midwifes still remember that birth four years ago. And now, two weeks ago, I had the honor to follow them again, and it was just as many tears this time!
He expressed every spectrum of emotion on this birth as well, and he’s not afraid to show it.
It’s so painful to see your love in this condition, but just minutes after this picture was taken, his oxytocin level, also known as the ‘love hormone,’ was sky high!
I think it’s so beautiful that he’s not afraid to show emotions like this, and I’m hoping more men can let go and do the same.
Take a look at this father’s riveting ride of emotions:
After two births with this beautiful family, they feel like a part of me. They will always have a big place in my heart and I will never forget their births. So much emotion and love I have never experienced before!”
