About This Recipe
The recipe is nothing extravagant or complicated, but it’s a staple at all of our family gatherings. Since my mom passed, I have been the one to make sure it’s on every holiday table. It’s the only recipe I have memorized. My mom was the ‘hostess with the mostest,’ making all the food, opening her home to the whole family, and always was the last one to eat. This dessert just holds a special place in our hearts (and stomachs). One year I even asked her to make it for my birthday instead of a cake. I have gone on to make it for friends and coworkers on their special days as well. It just reminds me of love and celebration, and my mom.
