He may only be 6 years old, but Callan Perks is already reaching his goals in life, all thanks to the Peterborough Petes.
The Ontario hockey team reached out for kids interested in taking on roles in their upcoming game against the Ottawa 67’s, and Callan didn’t hesitate to try out to be the head coach for the day. Tons of kids applied, but Callan’s audition stood out from the rest, most likely because of the pure joy this passionate little boy radiates when he talks about his favorite sport!
Callan plans on becoming a hockey coach or general manager later in life once he’s retired from being a National Hockey League (NHL) player himself, and he proved he’ll be perfect for those roles with his heartfelt pre-game speech. The players couldn’t help but smile as the 6-year-old passionately hyped them up, something they clearly carried into the game that ended with a 3-2 victory!
